The Age-friendly New York City initiative is an innovative partnership between the New York City Mayor's Office, the New York City Council, and The New York Academy of Medicine designed to make New York a better place in which to grow old.
Now in the assessment phase, the initiative is gathering information about the advantages and barriers of aging in our city. This work will culminate in an action plan to make New York even more inclusive of, and accessible to, older adults with a variety of needs and capacities. The focus is particularly on the eight domains of city life outlined below.
